Deutsche Eishockey Tipps, 42. Spieltag, DEL Saison 2019/2020
The duel in the German ice hockey league between EHC Red Bull Munich and defending champion Adler Mannheim comes to a head. Eleven match days before the end of the regular season, the Eagles are only three points behind the EHC. The championship leader should already feel the cool breath of the record champions when they are challenged against the Augsburg Panthers on Thursday evening at the start of the 42nd DEL match day.
After two defeats in a row, the Munich against urgently strong Panthers urgently need points to keep the top position in the table. Chaser Mannheim, on the other hand, only intervenes with the eleven other DEL teams in the league on Friday evening.
At the Wolfsburg Grizzlys, who celebrated a 5-1 win against league leaders EHC Munich on Sunday, Paval Gross‘ team can continue their impressive chase. There is also an exciting meeting in the capital for third place between the polar bears Berlin and the Straubing Tigers. We have summarized the most important games of the 42nd game day for you:
Game 1: Betting tip – EHC Red Bull Munich against Augsburger Panther, Thursday 7.30 pm, Olympic Ice Sports Center
Munich have dominated the DEL main round for a long time, but now it looks like the red bulls are getting cold feet. The sovereignty that Don Jackson’s troops showed during the first half of the season has long been lost. There are still eleven game days to go before the start of the playoffs and the big lead that Munich had once earned has been used up to three points. The Munich team scored just one point on the previous double match day.
On Friday, the EHC lost to the Eisbären Berlin after the penalty shootout. A 5-1 defeat of the grizzlies followed on Sunday. In the next home game against the Augsburg Panthers, points are urgently needed, otherwise there is a risk of losing the leading position.
The Panthers got the full yield against Düsseldorf and Straubing at the weekend and thus improved to tenth in the table, which would entitle them to the pre-playoffs. Tray Tuomie would of course like to keep this place with all his might.
In our opinion, this encounter has great surprise potential. While the leader is currently tumbling like a battered boxer, the panthers are snappy and aggressive. We therefore see a lot of value in a “draw-no-bet” bet on Augsburg.
Our betting tip: win Augsburg Panther. The best odds 5.75 at Betway .
Game 2: Betting tip – Grizzlys Wolfsburg against Adler Mannheim, Friday 7.30 pm, Eis Arena Wolfsburg
Just like the Augsburg Panthers, the Wolfsburg Grizzlys licked blood to improve their position in the table. Three wins in a row even make the North Germans dream of qualifying directly for the quarter-finals.
Due to the successes against Iserlohn and Munich last weekend, the starting position of the grizzlies improved many times over. Now, of all times, the team of Pat Cortina meets the high-flyers from Mannheim, who hardly missed feathers in the second half of the season.
On their title defense mission, the Eagles do everything they can to place themselves before the end of the regular season, but still in front of the Munich team, in order to secure the additional home rights for the playoffs.
The Wolfsburg Grizzlys seem to have finally given up their weakness at home. The North Germans took three wins from their last four home games. The Eagles, on the other hand, have lost only one of their last nine DEL games. In the form shown last, the record champion of the Wolfsburg mini-series will put an end to it.
Our betting tip: Sieg Adler Mannheim. Best odds 2.05 at Betway .
Games 3: betting tip – Eisbären Berlin against Straubing Tigers, Friday 7.30pm, Mercedes-Benz Arena
The fight for third place in the DEL could be rekindled with a victory for the Berlin against Straubing. The difference before the 42nd matchday is seven points, but the polar bears would still have to catch up.
So if the capitals continued their winning streak of three games in a row on Friday evening, the Tigers‘ lead would defrost up to four points. In the Mercedes-Benz Arena, the Berliners are so strong this season so far. From 19 games, the polar bears won twelve in the regular game time, as well as another match in extra time.
In contrast, there are only two direct losses, and Serge Aubin’s team also lost four times in extra time. Straubing has the strongest DEL team at home this season, but the Tigers have often been vulnerable to foreign ice lately. From the last seven trips away, the Tigers only returned once as winners.
There have been three duels between the polar bears and the Tigers this season. The Berliners won twice. The balance sheet of the capitals in their own arena speaks for itself. Thirteen wins from 19 season games so far.
Straubing has eight wins and twelve losses in 20 away games. The last seven away games only resulted in one win. The tendency for our tip is therefore clearly in the direction of the home side.
Our betting tip: victory Eisbären Berlin. The best odds: 2.60 at Bet3000 .
